MY TASK

During this project I had the opportunity to completely focus on being a designer in a team. I focused mainly on things like level, mechanic and story design, as well was tweaking the game feel so that it would be fun to play.

PROCESS

With a team of one developer, one designer and 3 artist we decided to make the game visually pleasing. We quickly came to the conclusion to make it a horror type game where you had to walk around a creepy house as a teddy bear in order to find the crying child. Towards the end a lot of levels and mechanics I had though of had to be removed because of the little amount of time we had, this was the first time as a designer I had to experience the pain of loosing so much work.

RESULT

As this was one of the first time I could completely focus on being a designer I noticed a lot of things I did not do right. This gave me lots of insight as to what it really meant to be a designer and what I could do better in future projects. In the end a lot of ideas had to be removed and this left me rather disappointed at myself, but I was still proud of the game we had made as a team.
